Lighting Design

While working for Sergio Orozco Designs, I had the opportunity to develop a variety of products in the decorative residential lighting industry.

I primarily worked in Rhinoceros 3D and Keyshot to produce conceptual lighting designs for companies including Hinkley, Quizel, and Kichler. The sketches and 3D models that are shown exemplify the daily workload that I took on during my time at Sergio Orozco Designs.

The first project that I was asked to take on for the role included thumbnail sketches, and 3D models for two chandelier concepts. In this chandelier project I focused on developing concepts that drew on elements from current lighting design trends, but worked to take more gestural forms which did not exceed a 30in diameter.

From the sketches, I was able to pick the two designs that I felt showed the most developed concepts that differed from current designs designs on the market.

I created a 3D environments for the the two chandeliers in Blender to show the scale of the chandeliers in a realistic residential setting.

Throughout my time at Sergio Orozco Designs my primary focus was doing research into different lighting programs to create sketches and 3D models for clients. My daily routine would consist of sketching from 8:30am to 11:30am followed by modeling and rendering in Keyshot for the remainder of the day. This work routine enabled me to focus on quickly ideating concepts to translate them into realistic 3D renderings for client presentations.
